Just thought I'd let you guys know that I decided to put together a Boise Sex Guide website. Not sure how well it will work, but I wanted to give providers a free spot to put pages, as well as clients. I know I've missed a lot of links to useful info out there, so if anyone has any, feel free to send them to me. In addition, if any providers (or clients) want to be set up with a free web page, just let me know. I also have email if people want a name@boisesexguide.com email. Going to be adding a lot to it in the future, but hopefully it will eventually have reviews and such. It's capable of blogs right now, so that might be interesting and give the girls a chance to chat with people.

Anyways, check it out and let me know what you think.

I just read the post on CL, not trying to be critical but I would not answer that post if I were a provider. Sounds like a LE sting? might be just me wait and see what responses you get?

Yeah, I'm a techie/geek, so I realize that the post wasn't as good as it could have been. I didn't want to come across as if i was a spammer/advertiser either, so I just did a quick post to see what kind of response I get.

I'm sure it will take some time to get enough content to make it worth visiting, but it will happen if the content is there.

www.boisesexguide.com. Very unfinished, but it's started at least.

Well, a couple of responses already despite my horrible craigslist ad. I think that there will be a fair bit once it gets going.

I keep adding more links and info that people might be interested in. If anyone knows any I've missed or any providers that have their own sites that I've missed, let me know.

Thanks for creating the new site. I have seen similar sites in bigger cities like San Diego and Austin. It is time for Boise to get one.

www.BigDoggie.net (go to "Boards" and then go to Idaho).

www.TheReviewBoard.net (do a search for Boise or Idaho and everyone once in a blue moon you'll get a provider cumming down from Washington).

Not Idaho, but www.CLReviewBoard.org. Has really good forums for Portland, Seattle and a couple of other major cities in the west. Good to look at if you are traveling.

www.HottieTottie.net...another Portland-centric board.

Thanks MTBHIKE. I tossed the first two that you listed on the site. A little later I may add a section for nearby resources and add the others and toss in the other two.

you might wanna get whois protection on your domain, so people cannot find you publicly. some registrars offers it for free, others don't, and godaddy is one the worst registrars to deal with. next to enom.

The only thing public on it is a cel phone. The site isn't illegal, so I'm not worried about cops, and if the phone number becomes and issue, I can easily change it. Nothing else is accurate other than City. I made a new godaddy account just for that domain to keep things more private.

zyxwv88,

Nicely Done! And thanks a bunch, we've needed something like this.

Google "problems or horror stories about Godaddy" and you'll see what i am talking about.

Haven't had any problems with godaddy in the past. Guess I'll keep my main domains off of them. Right now the boise sex guide is the only domain I have on godaddy

Made some major changes in the site. Content is still about the same, but the portal I was using wasn't going to let me do what I wanted easily, so I switched to a different one. Haven't decided if I'll go through all the effort to try to turn everything black again or if I'll just leave it. It's a lot of work changing all the CSS to give it a different look and feel.

Anyways, feel free to continue to give feedback. It allows user registration now, and some content is going to eventually require registration and verification to view (for areas that we may not want LE in), but most posters here will be verified without question since reviews here are a good sign you aren't LE. :)

Heheh. Doesn't surprise me. They've been after him for a while. Erotic City has been in the newspapers a lot for everything that he's been trying to get away with. I'll bet they've just been itching to get him.

I did notice this quote though too. "Our primary concern is that adult businesses not provide a fertile ground for criminal behavior."

Basically it sounds like they aren't as worried about mongering and such as long as it's not linked to other criminal behavior (drugs I know is a big one for them), or if they get complaints. In his case it sounds like it was because of complaints.

I went ahead and tossed that on the BSG. Decided it might be interesting to put news up there since you pointed that out.

Yes a very interesting story. Just the thought of spending $2000 for an hour...

The AMP article was also of interest.

Glad to see you've got the site running. That 150 club has really taken off, but the content is hard to follow, almost too much info. This type of forum seems to work better. Hopefully you can pick up some of those people.

I hope so. The hard part is just getting people to start coming. I think that from the time I started posting on these boards a couple years ago, it took a good couple months before we got many people posting. I'm hoping it moves a little faster.

Oh, and Pat, I noticed you registered the other day. sorry, but you have to do it again, because I had to wipe everything and start over again and I lost my user database.

Kudos to zyxwv88 for getting the site up and running. And more kudos for publizing the fact: I just saw your notice on CL (http://boise.craigslist.org/ers/305729855.html). Like the leadership Bogus Basin showed the ski industry with a $200 pass (it's a model that has been copied at some of the biggest resorts in the nation), I think boisesexguide and the 150 club take local mongering to the next level.

Not surprising things like this happen here. Boise is a small enough community that we can acheive some price discipline. Keeping people connected (read: boisesexguide and 150 club) helps keep prices reasonable and everyone -- mongers and providers alike -- a bit safer.

Speaking of the next big thing, check out the "Reviews" database available (http://www.theotherboard.com/) to folks in Colorado (or folks like me who travel there).

I do plan on continuing to add to the site. I think the next thing I want to do is just make a huge list of every gal in Boise with prices, contacts, and maybe a pic, all listed in order of price from lowest to highest. Something like that may help because the girls can see what everyone is charging and it may convince the higher price gals to drop their prices a bit.

If you like the site though, please come and post there. Doesn't even really matter if you have anything to say, even just say hi. If you can post any reviews, that would be awesome as well. People are starting to show up, but getting the forums active is going to take some work because many people won't post unless the forums are popular enough to have some conversations, but getting it to the point where they are popular is the hard part. Help me out guys. :D

Anyone interested in taking over the boisesexguide website? Basically I'm finding I don't have the time that I want to be able to manage and build on it, plus I'm working hard on stuff that should help me get promoted at work, and I just don't have the focus.

If anyone is interested, email me through admin at the boisexguide website address. It uses DotNetNuke, so it needs a server with IIS and SQL Server (although SQL Express would work, and it's free).

Long time members would be preferred, as would people with the time and effort to build on the site. I'll totally relinquish everything, including domain name.

If you don't have a site, but are still interested and have the time, there are DNN hosting sites that would let you host it for about $10/month.

If it wasn't for the fact that I'm trying to keep it free and a useful source of info, I'd consider it. A little cash is always nice. I'm just scared of what he'd do to it. :)
