Have you actually spoken with her about this instead of hearing second/third/fourth hand info?

When I visited with her recently, I was a bit intimidated, but as soon as we started talking....all the barriers were gone and it was extremely easy to openly talk to her about all kind of things related to this business.

All I know is that if she feels comfortable with you...then you are pretty set on having a great time with her.

In Chicago if a couple invite in a provider They normally pay the regular rate unless special favors are asked for over and above the regular serivces provided. Well, that's also part of why I can't pay $400. I have to justify it to her as well as well as myself. I didn't even have to ask her to know that $400 is more than she'd ok. $300 would be pushing it. :(

She's also the reason I'm not as willing to pay a lot of money for services. I think the problem is you may be too good at what you do. It seems everyone who does get to see you falls in Love with you and comes on the board and gushes praise on you.

I think at first I had restrictions, only because breaking into this business was a difficult transformation for me and I was torn a lot. Now I see it as a gentleman thing- I truely enjoy a nice persons time and when we can relate to eachother that is sexy to me. What she left out is that I suggested only that she apologize to SHSMT for the initial unprovoked attack she made on him, and nothing else. I think SHSMT was wrong with what he said in the first place. I think everyone needs to get over the whole concept of "we control the market". Half the time people talk about driving the price down and then the same people are crying about the lack of quality providers. I wouldn't give it another thought, first of all the review sounded more like a 4.0 than a 3.0. Second, it's not like you are claiming to be 25 or 27. I would agree that if you are doing a duo that it should be the same price (or preferably less) than the rate of both people. I'd tend to say that if if you both charge $300, that $500 is a reasonable deal. Although you may feel like you are providing a lot more for the money, you have to remember that the client is paying a lot more for the money also, and as was pointed out, if it's going to cost $600+ for the two of you, I'd rather get 2 hours out of it individually for that price. Although it's a nicer experience to have two girls, the guy is paying more.

The other thing to keep in mind is that you don't want to nickel and dime your clients to much. Don't take this wrong, because I don't mean it to be negative in any way, but rather as a constructive criticism, but the post came across as sounding like you felt like if you each charged $300/hour, then the combined experience should be worth more than $600/hour. We guys know that it's all about money, but it really sucks to be reminded of that, and rates that start to go too high, or sounding too expensive is one thing that will do it. The bad thing is that you don't know you've hit that point until things crash and it's too late. We know it's about the money, but it wouldn't hurt to tone things down a little in that respect because of how things start to come across. Again, I'm not meaning to be negative, that's just kind of the way things are starting to come across :)

Luckily things like this can be discussed a little more openly in these forums normally without negative impact because it's just a place to exchange ideas, so it's a good place to find out how the other side may feel.

BTW, that does suck about the not so good review. Don't take it personal though because in business you can't keep everyone happy no matter how good you are and no matter how hard you try. I used to run my own computer business and my clients loved me (and still try to con me into doing work for them even though I've moved across the state), but even though I offered super service for good rates, I still had a couple times that people got pissed just because they were that kind of person.
